Aliens may have landed and left one of their own
behind in Pleasant Grove.
Stan Smith recalls some of the stories he heard
as a child growing ip in the '50s in the swampy flatlands
between Pleasant Grove and American Fork.
"We thought flying saucers landed in the fields.
In the morning we'd go out and see matted down grass,
and thought maybe that's where they landed," said Smith.
Smith brings those old thoughts, stories, and fears to life
with his mysterious monster "Sloughfoot."
According to Smith, Sloughfoot is kin to Bigfoot, the large
hairy creature that roams the forests of the Pacific Northwest.
Now, Smith says, Bigfoot has come in search of Sloughfoot and
the two of them may be spotted roaming through his Bigfoot
Corn Maze and the swampy forests that surround it.
Unlike previous years, this year Smith's maze is haunted.
"On Friday and Saturday nights we'll have spooks," said Smith.
The Bigfoot corn maze consists of trails and circles. In addition to the maze,
a wagon ride will take visitors through a swampy haunted forest, the most likely
place for a Sloughfoot sighting.
A childern's maze, pumpkin train, cornstalk and
pumpkin patch, and concessions round out the fun at
the Bigfoot Corn Maze.
